Community First has partnered with NationsBenefits to offer Over-the-Counter (OTC) benefits to our Medicare Advantage Plan Members.

You can save time and money by using your OTC benefit allowance to purchase health and wellness items online and in retail stores. Scroll down to learn more about your OTC benefit.

Your Over-the-Counter Benefit

Community First Medicare Advantage Alamo Plan and D-SNP Members will be mailed a pre-loaded debit card from NationsBenefits to purchase OTC products online and in stores. Your card will be automatically reloaded quarterly, and any remaining balance will carry over.

Shop In Stores

Once you receive your preloaded benefits card in the mail, use it to buy eligible health and wellness products in stores.

Shop Online

Beginning January 1, shop online using the Benefits Pro Portal and get your items shipped straight to your door at no additional cost.

and manage your account on the go.

View Your Spending Allowance

Log in to Benefits Pro to view your spending allowance. Your allowance will be replenished quarterly. Any remaining balance will carry over.

What is my Over-the-Counter Benefit?

As a Community First Medicare Advantage Alamo Plan or D-SNP Member, you receive extra benefits, like an Over-the-Counter (OTC) allowance to purchase health and wellness products online and in stores. A pre-loaded debit card will be mailed to you. You can use your card to purchase items for pain relief, first aid, cold and allergy medicine, dental care, and more.

You can shop online using Benefits Pro beginning January 1. You don’t need your card to shop online.

Your card will be reloaded quarterly, and any remaining balance will carry over. To find out the amount that will be added to your card quarterly, please read your Member Handbook.

How can I purchase health & wellness products using my Over-the-Counter Allowance?

You can shop OTC health & wellness products online, using the Benefits Pro app, or in retail stores.

  • Online
    • Shop online using Benefits Pro. You’ll need your Community First Member ID number (found on your Community First Member ID card) and your date of birth. You do not need your NationsBenefits debit card to shop online.
  • Benefits Pro App
    • Search “Benefits Pro” in the App Store or Google Play to download the Benefits Pro app, or use this link. Use the app to browse products, make a purchase, and check your balance. You do not need your NationsBenefits debit card to shop using the app.
  • In-Store
    • Shop in participating retail stores using your prepaid NationsBenefits OTC debit card mailed to you.

 

How Do I Activate My Over-the-Counter Benefits Card?

You will receive your NationsBenefits card in the mail. Once you get your card:

  1. Go to CommunityFirst.NationsBenefits.com/Activate
  2. Call 877-205-8005 (TTY 711)

You will not receive a PIN for your card.

Once your card is activated, you can use it to shop in retail stores.
